Ideas for music video - Piet Mondrian Artwork and Katy Perry

Piet Mondrian was an important contributor to the De Stijl art movement and group, which was founded by Theo van Doesburg. He evolved a non-representational form which he termed neoplasticism. This consisted of a white background, upon which was painted a grid of black lines and three primary colours.

Artwork -
I like the idea of using simple colours and design. This can be used on a white wall and being projected onto. It can also be used in the theatre at Wyke where it can be projected onto the screen and the artists wearing similar clothing, blending into the screen. Just like in Katy Perry's 'This is how we do' video as shown below:

This can be achieved either on a green screen and green clothing or by using clothes similar to the one in the video and setting them against a background.

The style is also used in other forms of media, including this magazine advert advertising a Ford Fiesta.
The bold black lines and the primary colours stand out and make the piece look very effective.
The dresses that the models are wearing in the advertisement I will also consider using when deciding on costumes.
